JCCAC Handicraft Fair March 2015

Had tons of errands to run before I was scheduled to fly off to sunny Thailand the following weekend but I knew I couldn't miss the JCCAC Handicraft Fair again... I've missed it every time it was on - the last time was because I went to bake an apple pie with my Mum instead. I stopped for lunch at Passion by Gérard Dubois in Tsim Sha Tsui with Clar and Pinky and afterwards, it was off to Shek Kip Mei station to the actual fair! Sadly, it was super crowded and although I found everything really interesting, it really put me off looking. But Clar and I got a cute drawing done of the two of us!

The rest of the evening consisted of me rushing back to Causeway Bay for my appointment, followed by a late night dinner in Happy Valley with my parents. Then we actually took the tram all the way back home... it took like one hour and a half wtf we are a super cheap family.

Oil Street Art Space

I frequent Oil Street Art Space in North Point regularly. It's conveniently located right next to AIA Tower, which is where I sometimes have my weekend Nutrition classes, and you know me, as much as I complain about it, I just can't miss any art or architecture-related shows! They had two exhibitions on after one class on Saturday, so I decided to drop by and pay them a visit while waiting for Jason to finish with his field trip and meet me. The exhibitions on show that period were I Wanna Eat Yummy Yummy and Sparkle! Regarding Lightness: On Light's Way - I'd checked out both of their Facebook event pages briefly a while ago and I'd really wanted to go have a look. Here are a few photos I took!

Art Central Hong Kong 2015

The cheapass in me always signs up for giveaways and free stuff, and unexpectedly I actually won something! To be fair the tickets weren't that expensive to buy and Lifestyle Asia was giving away fifteen pairs, so the chances of winning were actually pretty high, but still. I won tickets for two (I later found out they were actually for four!) to go to Art Central 2015, so I invited Whitney along. We had a quick lunch in Admiralty before heading outside to the Central Harbourfront space to look at the many galleries and art pieces on show. It's times like these I'm so grateful to have friends who love the same things as I do (art!).

Whitney's 23rd Birthday at Naked Gurume Gyarari

I think this meal was the first fine-dining experience I've had - at least in a very long time. Not that I've had a lot of experiences. Actually, I've had none except for one lunch time in Caprice and one dinner time in Isola Bar & Grill in IFC four years ago. And funnily enough, both of those times I was with my 包兄 Kenneth, who is the only person I know who doesn't bat an eyelid when forking out a huge sum of money for a five-star meal without prior planning. But back to the main topic.

For Whitney's birthday, we made plans at Naked Gurume Gyarari, a fine-dining restaurant featuring expensive Japanese fusion food in ant-sized portions. The price was worth it for Whitney though, who was my first friend in university. We met before university even started at orientation camp, and even though we weren't in the same group, we instantly became friends. She was my studio partner several times, my flat-mate, my fei mate, my roomie during our Shanghai exchange and the list goes on. I can't even begin to describe our friendship in words!
