Got Me a Haircut!

I was long overdue for a haircut. The last time I cut my hair was in February and although it hasn't been one year yet, my long lovely locks (loljk) were getting out of hand. So gross! I contemplated for a long, long time whether to get my long hair curled or to cut it short. In the end, I settled for the younger looking outcome of chopping it all off. Here are three initial pictures I got of my short hair, all taken courtesy of Snapchat.

Instagram Pier

Yes, there's actually a location tag in Hong Kong called Instagram Pier. Just to let you know, that's not its official name, it was just nicknamed as such because people (a.k.a. Instagram-using-youngsters-like-me) keep going there to take orgasmic Instagram-worthy pictures. I'd wanted to go for the longest time, but held it off when I had a full time job because it's super crowded during the weekends and I wanted my pictures to be perfect. So during a summer (well, it's still summer in November in Hong Kong) weekday, before Jason started his full time job and before I began school, we went! We ended the night at Jumpin' Gym, hence last random picture.

The Kinder Surprise Returns!

If you were a 90s kid in Hong Kong like me, you'd have grown up with the Kinder Egg Surprise. I loved it when I was a child, because not only was the thin, milky chocolate yummy, there was always a little toy inside! Actually, I didn't care much for the chocolate - I was more of a crisps and savoury snacks sort of kid - but that surprise toy, inside the orange capsule that I had to get my Dad to open for me every time... just wow!

The Kinder Surprise is still being sold at many other countries, so what you may not know if you're not from Hong Kong is that it was banned here many years ago. I don't know, I think it was banned in the US as well (please don't take my word, I am 95% sure it's wrong) but because of whatever place it was banned in, it was not allowed in Hong Kong too. The reason is stupid: children in the 2000s are apparently so dumb that they choke on the toys... alright, if you say so! But what happened is that in Hong Kong, the Kinder Surprise has long been replaced with the Kinder Egg Joy, which tastes disgusting to me because I loathe white chocolate and c'mon... how the eff would it ever measure up to the almighty Kinder Surprise?

You could imagine my joy when I found a place setting the Kinder Surprise. I found it through Instagram actually - a fellow user was posting about how she found it in "360", and silly me just assumed it was Threesixty in Elements, so despite the expensive MTR fees to cross the harbour, I dragged Jason with me... only to find that the girl meant 優品360° (Best Mart 360), which is a cheap snack store located all over Hong Kong. I made that mistake because I can't read Chinese, LOL. Jason could not stop laughing at me!

Useless Selfcams of 2013 ♡

Sorry, I have waaaay too many selfies that I haven't shown to public yet that are nestled in my computer and phone. And to avoid "wasting" them, I will just dump them onto this blog. I apologise in advance but when I said I wanted to clear all my backdated entries, I really meant ALL! Luckily for you, the number of selfies I have don't seem to end so I'll have to skip out maybe a third of them. My favourite selfie entry will forever be my Red Hair entry though.

PS: I just realised Google Chrome didn't underline the word "selfies" with a red squiggly line! I guess it really is an official dictionary addition now, haha.
