Early 20th Birthday Celebration with Family

My parents are in Japan at the moment! Yes I know, again. Every time they go on holiday they go to Japan and ditch me here in Hong Kong to deal with my archi finals. I think they wanna skip my mood swings and tantrums haha. So anyway, since this year they'd be away for my 20th birthday (thank you), we celebrated my birthday TWO weeks early.

Initially we wanted to celebrate on Sunday but it was Easter Sunday and all the restaurants turned out to be full. Lol no planning done by anyone, so we ended up eating at Fairwood. Ultimate fail xD

It's not like I do anything that special for my birthday ever anyway? It sounds a bit sad but yeah... I've never had a huge birthday party, I guess because a) I'm not bothered and b) my birthday is smack right in the middle of exam period.

On Monday we cut my cake and went out to Outback Steakhouse!! Yay I was so excited cos I LOVE Outback and I'm addicted to their grilled chicken (idc if anyone says it's dry! LOL I love dry crackers and bread and stuff that absorbs all the moisture from my mouth HAHA).

Rainy Clubbing Night ☂

The beginning of my Easter holidays! Whitney and I had been wanting to see the Andy Warhol Exhibition for a really long time... and it would be ending on the 31st so we FINALLY found time for it on Thursday. It was raining really hard when we got to the museum, but we braved the weather and marched on, and then we looked at the sign in front of the building and...

The museum was closed on Thursdays. -_-

Fail.

It was raining super hard by then and I think there was a thunderstorm warning? Anyway we couldn't even leave the TST museum area so we just trekked around the Cultural Centre, looking at random posters and stuff... we basically just burned 2 hours of our precious holiday away. In the end we went back to Causeway Bay to shop in Forever 21 and I got a pair of navy shorts. After that we joined the rest of N's girls at Red Mr. to sing k. :)

We left at 10pm and made our way to LKF, but it was raining super hard even then :( so shitty, we'd been planning that night since forever but we went anyway. In the rain. We got soaked while switching from venue to venue. C'était tres horrible!

Hong Kong Rugby 7's 2013

 

Okay so I finally went to the infamous HK Rugby 7's! Yes yes okay I'm such a noob and a loser, I totally didn't experience the 7's until this year, until I was 19 years old, when people from my high school had been going and drinking there since they were 13/14/15/whatever. Lol. I'm too much of a goody-goody and stay-at-home type of girl okay! And I was never interested in going.

Cherry first mentioned the 7's this year some time in February, because her boyfriend was one of the players for the HK team, and she told us she could get us in for free... it was the first time I even considered going to the 7's cos I wasn't gonna pay for something so expensive that I didn't even want to go that bad.

Anyway turned out in the end we couldn't get free entry, plus I had to go back to school to work on Sunday anyway... so I decided not to go. But then Jacklyn and Vikki whatsapped me at like 1AM that night asking me to go... and I thought... why the hell not?

Lunch Buffet at the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong

Last Saturday I went for the lunch buffet with my family at the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong! It was such a spur-of-the-moment thing - for me at least, I guess my family had been talking about it for a while, but my mum didn't tell me about it until the night before at like 11PM, after I got back from doing bao at the studio.

I was like half asleep when she told me... I told her I'd come (obviously I would wtf, free food for me + BUFFET) but I wasn't sure because I was dying from consecutive days of lack of sleep... I ended up going the next day. Haha. I even had breakfast before cos I was so hungry in the morning. Result? I didn't really have an appetite at the buffet and I felt so stuffed throughout, but I kept shovelling food down my throat because I'm a binger and that's what binge eaters do. LOL. I felt so guilty afterwards I didn't eat for the rest of the day... I didn't even feel hungry until next morning cos I ate so much during lunch. :x

Not sure if I should go for buffets ever again. Even though my parents said that going for nice buffets would now be a once-a-month thing. But I really don't think it's good for my mental health, especially since I have such a bipolar and unhealthy relationship with food.

Bye Bye Reading Week :(

Back to school after reading week... reading week was not supposed to be a holiday, but it was for me because I'm a lazy piece of shite. I paid for it though because the week was PACKED with deadlines and I basically had to do the work we had months to do in one night... :( It was crazy... I didn't sleep much at all, like 4 hours every night? I felt so disgusting and unhealthy, luckily I got to spend some time with my family and non-archi friends this weekend!

Monday and Tuesday consisted of a panicked rush doing my viscom work, because our midterm was due on Tuesday... originally I'd decided to flunk it, and I finished my shitty work by Saturday. But then when I got to school all my classmates were SO SERIOUS about it, like they were working nonstop on it... so I sighed a huge, exasperated breath and made alterations to my work... In the end I worked all Monday night after my crit and Tuesday morning.

Wednesday and Thursday consisted of a panicked rush doing my design work, because we had a review on Thursday. I slept at 3am and woke at 7am on Wednesday...

I was dead after our review on Thursday, but I couldn't go back to sleep yet because... we had a Build tech quiz and assignment to hand in the next day. So I stayed up studying and only got 4 hours of sleep again.

Let me just say I pretty much flunked the fucking quiz cos it was mechanical physics. We were allowed to use a calculator to calculate the answers but I didn't even once touch mine cos I had no fucking idea how to tackle the questions. It was multiple choice so I randomly filled everything in and called it a day... BUT! =.= I had to do bao. So I couldn't go home and sleep AGAIN. Wtf... 4 hours again...

Bumped into Soler (the... band? idek) on the way down to dinner near school on Wednesday night. So funny, I didn't even recognise them at first, I was skipping down the hill belting out "SOMEWHEREEE OVER THE RAINBOW" and I made eye contact with one of the dudes while singing... and I just thought "why is a western looking guy eating in THAT restaurant?"

Then Clar was like "omg I think that was Soler" and I was like "what." and then we asked them for a pic. LOL. They probably think I'm retarded.

Anddddd some concept models, because they look quite nice in a photograph in my opinion (not so much in real life).

Whitney's 21st Birthday

Last Sunday was Whitney's (and her twin Tracy's) 21st birthday party! It was actually quite a bad time to have a celebration cos we had design on Monday, and we were all so stressed from work...

But hey, friendship > school any day! In the end of this three year course, it's the times you spent with your friends that you're gonna remember, not the grades you got. (lol maybe I'm just reassuring myself but whatever, I do believe that!)

Whitney is one of my closest friends in architecture and pretty much my first friend when we first started university. I was actually really intimidated by her when I first met her because she looked like she was from an international school / the UK (which she was) and she was really HOT and FIT and FASHIONABLE and STYLISH and I was like WOWWWW typical ABC/BBC, so I was really scared she'd have an attitude or something... but she's actually SUPER nice, the nicest person I know! :)

Present I made for her! Clar and I also bought something else separately - a super expensive cookbook and a lunchbox because Whitney loves cooking haha. But I wanted to make her a special card / book of our memories for her FOREVER 21st birthday :) because honestly, we've been through so much together in just two years and I'm really grateful for her and I love her to bits!

We had Western style BBQ for dinner! Super yummy omg I totally stuffed myself with meat... it was also nice finally meeting Whitney's twin sister, Tracy, after hearing about her for so long! Though of course I was shy and didn't really talk to the peeps I wasn't familiar with, hehe. But happy birthday once again to the beautiful sisters! :)
