Eat Right Restaurant & Wine Bar

Randomly met up for lunch with the Archians! We were supposed to meet in the morning to go to the first gathering of ASO 2013 (the HKU architecture orientation camp) but I didn't go in the end even though I was the one who suggested it. I woke up but I couldn't leave my house as usual cos I was mooching around. I ended up being late for the lunch as well, despite my dad driving me... oops. Fail.

I suggested having lunch at Eat Right because no one else could decide where to eat, and I think the girls wanted to eat relatively healthy... and the name sounded sort of... healthy. Haha. Initially it was supposed to be an all-girls lunch, so I was kinda surprised Hank and Llywelyn showed up too haha. But the more the merrier! :)

What we had for lunch: (I actually wanted to share cos I wanted to taste everything but everyone else wanted to get their own meals... sad!)

Maisie and Whitney totally cheated ok! They didn't finish their lunches and gave basically half of their meals away to people around them. *shakes fist in indignation cos I on the other hand finished my plate and consumed waaaay too many calories :(*

I binged that night too. Sigh. But that's besides the point.

Was awfully sick that day but we still went for ice cream in Haagen Dazs afterwards. Then we went to H&M where I found out there was a sale because the Central branch was closing! :O I was so shocked, I mean it was their flagship store! Apparently they're opening Zara in its place or something. Anyway once I began shopping I couldn't stop and my friends left after doing a round in Topshop as well then deciding that they couldn't wait for me any longer. LOL. They went home and I continued to shop alone.

The place was packed, I'm not even exaggerating. I lined up for over half an hour for the changing rooms then another half hour to pay at the cashier. I was alone so I couldn't get anyone to hold my place for me even though I really, really had to pee... I held my pee in for so fucking long that by the time it was my turn to pay I was in tears. I ran to the Landmark and luckily I stumbled across a staff opening the doors to the staff toilet and rushed in with her. She saw the desperation in my face and held the door open for me and even let me pee first. So embarrassing but I was seriously gonna wee in my pants, haha.

HKTDC Food Expo 2013: Ishii-Shoten

Got the opportunity to work for Ishii-Shoten this year at the Hong Kong Food Expo again thanks to Karina! Every time I work for the company I find myself wishing I could speak Japanese :( it's such a disadvantage being unable to communicate with my bosses and some of the customers. Granted, most of the customers are Chinese so I don't need to know Japanese anyway, but still...

Anyway the four days of work were super fun and I got to see some of the people I worked with last year as well! Obviously I had to stand around the whole day and had to deal with ANNOYING customers (who weren't even customers, but just greedy people here for free food) and was super tired with a breaking back bone at the end of the day, but it was really worth it. :)

RCHK Boat Party

One Sunday I joined Cherry and Maisie's high school friends on a boat trip! I know, it's so random cos I don't know anyone from RCHK. It kinda felt like I just barged in but they needed more people and I missed the ones I was invited to from people I know cos of my surgeries, so I thought, why not? Plus I thought it was a good opportunity to meet new people. HAHAHA. Dunno why antisocial me thought that cos I am possibly the worst person at socialising and making new friends :( I'm so awkward idk why! The boat trip itself wasn't bad though, it was pretty fun! (psst... it's actually my first ever boat trip OMG I'm such a no-lifer wtf...)

We had gorgeous weather that day... it was BOILING hot! Not complaining though because before that day it'd been raining nonstop in Hong Kong. Right after our boat trip came a typhoon as well so we were very, very lucky! Cos boat trips have to be booked and planned beforehand so basically the organiser was a great weather-predictor.

I just realised I've been so lucky this summer in terms of the weather. Like I went to the beach with Vikki and Sarah on the ONLY day it was sunny of that week... and this boat trip... I guess God really wants me to go out and get some sun cos I love to shut myself up at home and avoid tanning at all costs.

Haha I feel like such a little kid being so excited about the idea of a JUNK BOAT TRIP... when pretty much everyone I know have experienced it already. Bleh I'm so antisocial and sun-hating (and possibly self-hating at times cos I don't usually like to wear bikinis as I'm insecure) so I didn't get to go on a boat trip until ... well I'm 20 years old now LOL. Noob status to the extreme.

I actually laid down and tanned as well. ZOMG. This is such a huge deal for me because ever since I've been BORN, I've always hated tanning cos I tan so easily. This junk trip was actually the first time I felt grateful for tanning so easily cos I don't think I laid down intentionally for more than 30-45 minutes yet when I got home I had already visibly tanned. I have a tan line from like half an hour of tanning! Yay?

Reunion with Mithila and Michael

About two to three weeks ago, I met up with Mithila and Michael after work to grab dinner!

I'm not sure if Mithila will read this ha ha I remember she has a blog and is actually following me... anyway we ate at the Brunch Club in Causeway Bay (God, I always seem to go there for some reason) and just chilled in Hysan Place afterwards. It was nice catching up with my old Biology-class buddies :)

Mithila and I met up for a second time just before she flew back to Canada. We had Outback this time!

We were just reminiscing about the high school days, and if there's one thing I'm grateful for now that I think about it, is how we were separated in middle school. We were best friends throughout primary school, but we were cruelly separated by our teacher when we moved on to secondary school. Imagine having your BEST. EVER. FRIEND. taken away from you.

I know she wasn't really taken away, but being put in completely different classes was a huge deal back when we were young. I was so depressed I cried so much. Like, it was a known fact amongst teachers that we were BFF... but I guess our Year 5 teacher somehow thought we were bad influences on each other so he put us in separate classes in Year 6. =.=

Well having zero classes together and zero interaction with each other in middle school caused us both to sort of move on and make new friends, which was a shame. But when I think about it now, it was a blessing in disguise because our friendship skipped the immature middle school years. You know, those years when dumb fights between tween girls happen, "breaking up" with each other etc... we avoided it all. We started talking regularly again in Year 12 because we finally had a class together (Biology!) and by then we had matured enough to not have dumb middle school drama anymore.

If we hadn't been separated, maybe we wouldn't even be friends now because somewhere along the way, we might've had a huge fight. It's happened to me and a few of my friends, some of whom I don't talk to anymore. So even though I was really, really heartbroken when Mr. Fraser (our Year 5 teacher) pulled us apart, now I sort of have to thank him for it because it allowed us to remain friends. And to be honest I trust Mithila more than most of the people I hang out with on a daily basis. :)

Phew, that was a long heartfelt post. I'm positively embarrassed now cos I don't really post mushy stuff normally. Lets hope she doesn't read this. HAHA!!
