Bangkok & Hua Hin: Part 2

My favourite day was our third day in Thailand! It was a full day out planned by yours truly. When I was at work and at home in Hong Kong, I researched day and night for interesting places to go to in Hua Hin - and found Santorini Park Cha-am and just a short drive nearby to it, Swiss Sheep Farm. The first was definitely a must-go on my list because I'd missed out on the chance to go to Greece during my graduation trip, and although I stayed in Hotel Limani during my Japan trip last year, Santorini Park sounded like paradise - a whole theme park decorated like Greece? Yes please!

Santorini Park is split into two parts - on land and in water. We didn't go to the water park because my parents are at the age where they no longer have the energy to go on slides nor were they interested. I couldn't go myself (though it would've been lovely to dive into a pool of cool water in the hot afternoon sun), so half of the park it was!

The land section features streets that are decorated just like Greece - which I've never been, so I can't really give an accurate comparison, but most of the reviews by people who have been to the real place say this, so I'll take their word! Santorini Park is a teenage girl's paradise... I couldn't stop requesting my Dad to take pictures of me. If you're going and you're a vain young girl like me, make sure you take at least a novice photographer with you, and I cannot stress this enough, LOL! All the shops are functioning retail shops, just your common brands and some Thai brands. We actually went inside quite a few cos the sun really was on the warpath that day.

After, we went to Swiss Sheep Farm, but that's for the next part of this Thailand series!

Bangkok & Hua Hin: Part 1

Hello, welcome to another series of blog posts on my travels! After continuously and only going to Japan with my parents since I was twelve, I finally convinced them to spend their money on another country.

(The story about my parents only going to Japan every time they're on vacation will be saved for another blog post... but basically they frequent Nippon at least five times a year. Yes. Five times. Which you know, would not be a problem but they don't go anywhere else.)

Before my parents caught the Japan craze, every holiday we had we would go to Thailand. I guess it's because it's a sunny and outdoorsy country, perfect for kids! You name a city in Thailand, I've probably been there - several times too. Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, Krabi, Koh Samui, Koh Chang, Pattaya, Phuket are just a few I can think of from the top of my head right now... I can't even count the times I've flown to Bangkok with two hands.

I wanted to relive my childhood memories in a sunny place that wasn't Japan, so I suggested Thailand, and what's more I actually succeeded! I really did highly anticipate this trip because I work a 9-to-6 desk job and you know how that gets.

In Part 1, we arrived in Bangkok then took a bus to Hua Hin. It was evening time when we got there and we were exhausted, so we just ate near our hotel and went to bed. On the second day, we explored the Hua Hin Railway Station, Hua Hin Market Village and Cicada Market!
