February 2013

Phone pictures of snippets of my life this February, taken by both myself and my friends (then sent to me via Whatsapp). Captions below!

Our first project for this semester involves filming a video. Since we're not film-makers, and we don't have proper equipment to film a smooth-moving clip, Whitney and I made our own device - we used her little sister's scooter and attached our camera and tripod to it! LOL. The method was only 80% effective, because we still have to push the scooter along and our hands shook etc... but at least the films are relatively smooth and much better than if we filmed things freehand!

But some parts we had to inevitably film freehand... like climbing up super-high walls and crossing roads and capturing clips on the highway. x.x wtf architecture is so dangerous!

Our mid-review panel just before the Chinese New Year holidays! :) We also tried a subtle matching dress code haha.

Annual Chinese New Year festival with the dear Archians... KCM and Whitney aren't in this pic cos they left early.

During CNY Whitney went on holiday to Vietnam and I stayed in Hong Kong, but since our final was just after CNY and I had to see my tutor during the holidays, we had to work... her Whatsapp didn't work so we ended up communicating through folder names on dropbox LOL.

Typical granola binge a.k.a. eating a huge family sized packet in one go until my gut literally explodes. Y'know it!

Lunch with mummy in Watami on Saturday! :) I'm glad I'm finally going out with my parents more, I can't believe I took them for granted when I was in high school... I guess it's such a typical thing for kids my age to only realise their parents' importance after getting into university and barely seeing them.

Parents went to the Island East Markets on Sunday morning (they asked me to go, but I refused and stayed home and binged on granola instead) and brought back super yummy bread (not pictured) and these colourful tomatoes! :D

Leftover chocolates that Cherry made for her boyfriend for Valentine's Day. Looks super pro haha!

Parents bought strawberries home... you see that TINY dish up there with like only ten strawberries? It cost $100!!! I'M SERIOUS. I was so shocked, they're from Japan or something and super fresh and SUPER sweet and SUPER good! Man my parents spend money so willingly, I would NEVER spend that much on strawberries wtf.

From today! Our part 1 final! :)

Went to have all-day breakfast for dinner at Flying Pan afterwards (which was tonight, btw). Spanish omelette with wheat toast, salad and fresh fruits. Expensive and totally NOTHING on Shanghai's ying yang mai pian breakfast (I HAVE TO DO A POST ON THAT.... I can't believe I haven't done a blog post on the most amazing food I had in Shanghai... I had to have it like at LEAST 3 to 4 times a week or else I had withdrawal symptoms lmao).

A random selfcam because I love my new leather jacket. It was on Discount from Mango!

Obsessed with this salad from Watami! It's big enough to fill me right up (okay, it's not meant to be eaten by one person / meant to be shared but you know me)...

Felt miserable one Saturday after a site visit with Whitney, so after she left, I just sat alone in the park in Shau Kei Wan for more than an hour... I didn't want to go home and had nowhere else to go haha, but I just needed some time alone. It was FREEZING!

The same outfit in four different pictures cos when I take pics of myself, I rape the "camera" button... then I end up with like a gazillion pictures of the SAME thing hahahaha, with slight differences.

Thank you Julian my bff! Always so touched from his thoughtfulness. :)

Kjeldsens cookies, the death of me. Actually I like the blue tin cookies more (the original butter cookies?) but my mum likes this more so... yeah these are from Chinese New Year, can't believe I ate half a fucking tin (one layer) in the span of like 15 minutes. Felt like a fucking monster afterwards. But binge-eating is the norm for me, isn't it...? :(

February 27th was my lovely Janet's birthday! Couldn't be with her physically so I made a nice little update for her on my Instagram hehe :)

Field trip day. This was like 11:30am in the morning at Chi Lin Nunnery. We were supposed to gather at school to take a bus together to the place at 10:30 but I was so late I couldn't make it, so I made my way to the site alone. At least I got a good workout from running from home to the MTR station to the temple... I was sweating like a pig when I joined the rest of the class - on time too, if you were wondering, cos that place is actually closer to my home!

In the afternoon of the same day we had another field trip, this time for design class. We went to a fish market first (not pictured) then SWIMS... OMG I'd been to SWIMS in Year 12/13 for biology! I completely didn't recognise the place haha, but it brought back memories! Anyway by then the heat from my great morning workout (lol) had run out, and it was FREEZING COLD up at the periphery of Hong Kong island, and we had to hike up a freaking hill... I swear I caught a cold again! My fingers were so cold they became numb and purple and I couldn't even feel them.

Dinner time at Bijas Vegetarian, newly opened in HKU! It's buffet style, but it wasn't that great and it was expensive as well. It was $27 for the above W T F and I wasn't full at ALL so I had to go home and eat more bread and rice and yeah what a fail.

Cherie's 19th birthday so hahaha I got bored and went through our old photos from Korea in Summer 2011 together! Summer 2011 was the best, wasn't it? Sometimes I miss the freedom but I do like constantly being challenged in university now!
