My 20th Birthday: Part 3

Following on from my birthday post with my friends... that same night, I celebrated with my uncle and grandma as well (my parents were enjoying their holiday in Japan, leaving poor me alone to combat my mid-review amidst my messy, unwashed house). That day I ate nonstop and had two birthday cakes as I previously mentioned and by the time I finished eating at 11pm I thoroughly felt like vomiting.

My fifth birthday cake this year! YAY :)

Not that the food and company wasn't nice though. Totally appreciated everything and everyone :) but I think next year I'll be careful not to schedule two birthday meals in one day AHAHA. Cos by the time I finished having brunch with the girls at like 5PM, I only had time to walk home then go for dinner at 7PM... :S

We had Ruby Tuesday! Haven't had Ruby Tuesday since... like, three years ago, in high school? And before that, I hadn't had Ruby Tuesday since I was like 5 years old or something, because my mum doesn't like it. I think I've only had Ruby Tuesday like four times in my life. LOL. I seriously prefer Outback - omg I'm seriously IN LOVE with Outback's steaks... I don't think the food is as good at RT.

Felt kinda bad because I requested steak for dinner and then I didn't eat steak because I was so stuffed from lunch... and I couldn't even finished my grilled chicken salad as well -_- and the bill was SOOO damn expensive, like way more $$ than Brunch Club or Outback and I felt so bad. ArGHHH.

They also had cake for me!!! But I was seriously shittingly full, still managed to have two slices though LOL I gained like a gazillion pounds that weekend...

My 20th Birthday: Part 2

On the 13th of April, I had a full day's birthday celebration, firstly with Vikki, Jacklyn and Sarah and at night with my uncle and grandma. I ate nonstop that day, super fatty foods as well, and had TWO birthday cakes. Wtf lol.

My fourth birthday cake this year! :)

Actually I was supposed to work that day cos my mid review was on Monday... but since my loved ones took time out to celebrate my 20th with me, I really couldn't excuse myself. Plus, going out with friends and family is MUCH more fun than locking myself up in studio or at home doing work. Though I went on to sort of regret this decision later on cos I pulled two all nighters in a row as a result of not having done anything.

Went to Brunch Club with my girls! :)

Actually we were gonna go to Hit the Road but it was closed... you know I've been there twice and both times it was closed? =.= I'm so stupid lol. Brunch Club was SUPER full (well it was a Saturday afternoon) but luckily we didn't have to wait long for a table and the waitresses were super nice! The food was SO good!!! I can't believe it was my first time there only despite having heard about it ageeees ago? Must go again! :D

Actually at first I wasn't expecting the girls to celebrate my birthday with me, cos we'd talked about meeting up for ages and the previous week's meeting got pushed to this week, which just happened to be my birthday weekend.

I really was just expecting a simple get-together! But they surprised me with a cake :') touched!! I really have the best friends in the world!!

Love them so much! ♡♡♡ my pretty girls :) thanks for the nice food and the nice company!

My 20th Birthday: Part 1

My birthday this year fell on a Friday... originally, our mid-review was on Thursday morning, but it got postponed to Monday instead... dunno if that was a good or bad thing - good, because there was NO WAY I could've finished my work by Thursday (I barely made it in time on Monday) and I didn't have to spend my birthday with horrible breakouts and a tired face from all-nighters, but bad, because I had to work during my birthday weekend, which caused a lot of stress for me.

Ultimately during my birthday weekend I had to pick two out of the three: work, play or sleep. I chose work (went back to the studio every day) and play (celebrated my birthday with two groups of friends and my extended family)... so I ended up pulling two all nighters in a row. Or near all nighters, because the second night I couldn't stand it and napped for like 3-4 hours.

But enough about architecture.

Spent my official birthday with these lovely girls! My N's girls!

They understand me best when it comes to workload... them and the rest of my classmates, haha. After we had lunch we actually went back to school and I spent the rest of my day in the studio working. I know, so sad right? Working on my birthday at school?

We had a salad buffet lunch at Momo Café, which is located just underneath HKU. xD It was pure coincidence, cos we'd wanted to have a salad buffet for ages and one of the most popular places for that in Hong Kong is at Water Street... which is at the foot of the hill that our university is perched on.

The buffet itself was REALLY good!!! Though I guess I'll always be more of a carb and meat eater than salad eater, because I got bored of greens after one huge bowl... I kept refilling my plate with dim sum and pasta and spam afterwards. :S So much for eating healthy lol, I'll always be a fat shit.

Afterwards we walked back up to the studio to work. Whitney, Cherry and Maisie went to "buy some fruits" and I didn't twig what was going on... I didn't expect anything else cos it was already really nice that they spent lunch time with me, and they'd already surprised me with a homemade cake on Monday...

But anyway, after a while they came up and they had another round of surprise for me! Birthday cupcakes! Another round of lighted candles and birthday wishes and cakes from Eat My Cakes. Thank you so much my girls! :)

Surprise Early Birthday Cake!

8th April 2013

I’m so grateful because I know most people who go to university don’t make close friends - you meet a lot of hi-bye friends, or friends who only associate with you for connections, or simply friends you hang out with on a daily basis but you never really talk to. In architecture, we’re forced to spend every second of our time in the studio with our sixty classmates, so it’s sort of inevitable that we become close to each other.

I see other people and their closest friends are just from high school, and they keep dating people from their high school, but I’ve been really lucky because I met a bunch of people in university who I can say, without hesitation, are just as close to me as my high school friends are. I can be my complete self around them, talk about my deepest feelings with them etc. And they’re always there for me, they understand the stress from the workload I get, they comfort me when I’m sad… I’ve never felt happier.

These crazy girls gave me a surprise birthday cake four days before my birthday! It was Monday, so we had a full day of studio, then afterwards we scattered upstairs to the CAD lab to work on our viscom assignments...

Anyway it was around 10PM I think? I was totally tired out from 3D Max and I just wanted to go home cos it takes me one hour to get back... I was so absorbed in my own depressed/panicky thoughts I didn't notice the girls had disappeared from the CAD lab.

Suddenly Cherry came up to me and was like, "shit, you need to go down to the studio to see Joshua now."

I panicked even more... Joshua is my tutor and one week ago, I had a really bad experience with him. Like I'd pulled an all-nighter for design and the next morning when I saw him, he didn't like what I did and made me stay until 9PM at night to produce new work for him. I hadn't slept the night before and I was exhausted and emotional and I cried so much that day.

Anyway, that was why I began hyperventilating hahahaha, I was like, "FUCK FUCK FUCK NOT A REPEAT OF LAST WEEK PLEASE!"

I rushed downstairs to the studio but instead of seeing Joshua there, I was greeted by my friends and a homemade birthday cake baked by Whitney and her twin sister. And the candles were lighted and they sang Happy Birthday for me. :')

Gosh. I was so touched. I was shunned to silence lol all I remember was screaming, "YOU GUYS REALLY SCARED ME" at them hahaha.

Meet Up with Jeremy 1

Sometime during the Easter break I also met up with Jeremy to have lunch at Yummy Delight in Windsor House. I think the last time I saw him was... half a year ago? Oh, more! I saw him during summer, I think in August. It was just a quick catch up session haha, but we had a nice time chatting. :) It's always nice when people make an effort to stay in touch! Afterwards I went back to the studio to work... just the typical day-in-the-life of an architecture student.

Easter with N's Girls!

Omg I'm so backdated with my posts again... but this time I have a legit reason, my mid review was yesterday and I've been working nonstop without sleep for two days. My face is disgustingly disgusting now haha. I don't think I'll be taking pictures of myself for another month because my skin is only going to get worse from now with all the sleepless nights I'm gonna endure. Only 3 more weeks to go!

Also, I turned 20 on Friday!!! I'm not done with the celebrations yet haha, still have yet to have lunch or dinner with ALL of my friends to celebrate! :) ANYWAAAAY, lets go back to the Easter holidays... cos I'm so backdated lol.

Early 20th Birthday Celebration with Family

My parents are in Japan at the moment! Yes I know, again. Every time they go on holiday they go to Japan and ditch me here in Hong Kong to deal with my archi finals. I think they wanna skip my mood swings and tantrums haha. So anyway, since this year they'd be away for my 20th birthday (thank you), we celebrated my birthday TWO weeks early.

Initially we wanted to celebrate on Sunday but it was Easter Sunday and all the restaurants turned out to be full. Lol no planning done by anyone, so we ended up eating at Fairwood. Ultimate fail xD

It's not like I do anything that special for my birthday ever anyway? It sounds a bit sad but yeah... I've never had a huge birthday party, I guess because a) I'm not bothered and b) my birthday is smack right in the middle of exam period.

On Monday we cut my cake and went out to Outback Steakhouse!! Yay I was so excited cos I LOVE Outback and I'm addicted to their grilled chicken (idc if anyone says it's dry! LOL I love dry crackers and bread and stuff that absorbs all the moisture from my mouth HAHA).
