Belated Christmas Cooking Feast at Llywelyn's

With eight people in our group of friends, making plans is always difficult. We'd been planning a home-cooked Christmas feast since our successful BBQ party. Of course, this feast never happened... until after Christmas. Well, better late than never, right?

We cooked up a huge feast and it must be noted that Llywelyn bought a 360g giant gingerbread man cookie that I single-handedly consumed because I was on a binge. It was actually a pre-baked kit where he decorated it in a very sexual way with icing - and I ate the whole thing all by myself because everyone else was full and I was the only one who liked the taste...

Boxing Day Family Potluck Dinner

Christmas is a time for family, and my Dad's side of the family randomly decided to have a Christmas dinner! Well, to be exact it was a Boxing Day dinner because it took place on the 26th. My Aunt actually brought this idea up, and our family decided to make it a potluck dinner where we all contribute something to the dinner table. The location was super inconvenient and far away though - at my Aunt's place in Lake Silver, which is all the way near Ma On Shan. I'm so bad with directions that I actually got off at the wrong MTR station because I went separately from my family, as I was in Causeway Bay before dinner time to meet up with Erica.

The dinner itself was great and I'm honestly so happy that my Aunt brought up the idea, even if her home is pretty much in China, LOL. Family time is always the best time, I'm glad I realised this quite early on! Pictured below isn't even all the food we had because their table couldn't fit so much, so we had to bring everything out in rounds. Bloated to the max afterwards!

Meet Up with Erica... Once Again!

Erica came back to Hong Kong again for her Christmas holidays, so we decided to meet up on Boxing Day for brunch! And what better place for brunch than my favourite Brunch Club & Supper? (Well obviously there are "better" places, better meaning more expensive, but I do think Brunch Club & Supper is the best value-for-money)

The last time we saw each other was for her 21st birthday dinner in April... and that was before our university finals, before we graduated. It's been more than half a year since then, so we had a lot to catch up on. She told me all about her current job in London and my God, the employee benefits over in the UK are so much better than in Hong Kong. Free breakfasts, free lunches, free shuttle buses to work, you get to work from home, you get to leave work at 4PM, you get your birthdays off... I nearly cried with envy. And the company I'm working for already has bombass benefits compared to most in Hong Kong! Not that I'm not grateful for my job or anything, but man, I was really shocked that this was the norm overseas! I guess people in Hong Kong really are workaholics.

Christmas 2015 with Jason

For how frequently we meet up and for what a selfie queen I am, I really don't take that many pictures when I go out with Jason. This entry is supposed to be a collection of photos taken on my dates with Jason in November and December 2014, but apart from the few Christmas Day photos, there are only two extra ones, haha!

Instead of meeting up with Jason on Christmas Eve and spending time with my family on Christmas Day as most people do, I swapped the two days around. As with all special occasions, we didn't plan for anything special to do on the day - we just felt that it was obligatory to at least spend one Christmas-related day together. Much like our birthday and Valentine's Day celebrations, haha. Again, we booked our meal place super late - after long deliberation because a) we wanted something warm to eat and b) it was fully booked everywhere else, we settled on Gyujin for hotpot / shabushabu again. Afterwards, we went to watch Paddington Bear because it seemed like the most Christmassy movie on show and because I prefer cartoons to live actors, but the movie was very below average. Blah.

Oh! But the highlight of the day was definitely visiting the Pokemon X/Y exhibition at The One! I'd wanted to go there since forever but never had the time because Tsim Sha Tsui is not somewhere I frequent and because well, I work a 9-6 job, as you know. It was crowded and super difficult to take nice pictures without random strangers in the background on a public holiday, but what could I do? I just had to visit my favourite "anime" characters before the exhibition ended!
