Osaka, Hiroshima & Kobe 2013: Part 1

Part 1  |  Part 2  |  Part 3

Finally clearing my backdated entries of my family trip to Japan during summer 2013! Embarked to Osaka, Hiroshima and Kobe (I think? Oops I can't remember anymore) not long after my Seoul trip with the N's Girls... this is the first entry on our 11-day trip. I went with my Mum, Dad, Uncle and Grandma! :)

Part 1 will consist of days one, two and three. Most photos unfiltered, and from a mixture from my camera, my Dad's camera, my Uncle's camera and my phone because I just wanna get my 2013 blog posts over and done with omg!

Day 1:
Arrival at Hiroshima, Japan!

Touristy Hong Kong style photo at the airport. Because everyone takes a picture with their luggage (or the boarding sign) nowadays then uploads it on Instagram. Woop look at how fat and chubby I was back in June!

Was upgraded to business class! :O my first time ever flying on something other than economy class and omg, it was the best experience ever! The service was awesomesauce, I got tons of space (though most of it was unnecessary for my three hour flight to Japan, but I can see how nice it would be for a long-haul flight), and best of all, unlimited food! They let us pick from a box of CHOCOLATES *hearty eyes* you know, where each chocolate is individually designed? LOL I love those! And unlimited bread as well! The only bad thing would be that the seats were isolated and I couldn't talk to my family, but I suppose that's the point for businessmen who often travel alone, haha.

Having my appetiser fruit platter and tofu while watching the worst movie on earth. Okay, I just spent like 10 minutes googling the name of the movie cos I forgot its name and I can't find it cos it was so bad. Like I'm sure it's not even just my opinion... but I've never watched a worse movie in my life. Except perhaps for Scary Movie 4. I also began my Pokemon White 2 game on this flight! (irrelevant, but whatever)

Annnd arrival at our hotel in Hiroshima where we stayed for two nights! Just putting down our luggages and stuff before going out to explore the city nearby and to get dinner.

Dinner at a small café-like restaurant called BAQET which had a bread buffet! Yum yum!

Because I wanted to binge on bread, I decided to go light on my actually dinner, and I ordered a salad. Couldn't really communicate with the waitresses though so I couldn't ask for dressing on the side like I usually do :( but never mind!

Day 2:
Visiting the Hiroshima bomb site!

Round one of my breakfast! My favourite part about going on holiday with my parents are the breakfast buffets ;) though of course they're not as awesome as the ones in Thailand resorts which have literally EVERYTHING... but good enough! All my breakfast pictures will be my first round because I'm not gonna take repetitive shots of the many rounds I went back for... I always try to eat healthy during my first round though :) yummy broccoli!

Went to the Hiroshima bomb site in the morning! A bit boring but luckily I found wifi in the tourist counter and checked in on Foursquare HAHA! If you don't know, because I don't think I've ever mentioned this on charmainenyw, I'm addicted to Foursquare... been addicted since March actually LOL.

BBQ seafood lunch at a cute little place we stumbled upon!

Looking at the selection of BBQ foods and their prices. I think there were two options, an all-you-can-eat option or an a-la-carte option. We went for the a-la-carte.

Lots of cute families having their BBQs outdoors! The chairs and tables were so cute and colourful as well, the whole environment was so happy and cheerful :)

I wasn't that enthusiastic about it though, mainly because I don't really like seafood. Takes too long to remove the shell and the taste isn't something I prefer... I'd much rather have meat, QUICKER and more filling. But my Grandma was soooo excited lmao.

Me and... ah fuck, I don't know names of seafood. Sorry.

My Grandma enthusiastically cooking. She grew up in Big Wave Bay, a beach in Hong Kong, so she's damn experienced with cooking seafood and cracking open shells and shit like that hahahaha!

Yum yum! At least they had some meat!

Back to the city area nearer to dinner time, after shopping. Picture with a horse in front of a random restaurant because I lurve horses :) And it was so cute!

Ended up at this random "healthy" restaurant for dinner in a mall.

My grilled vegetable meal with brown rice and some... soup thing which you pour into the rice.

Day 3:
Onwards to Miyajima Island!

Waking up in the morning in our hotel in Hiroshima... OOTD was my awesome LSD top from Mongkok haha! Trying so hard to be swag omg, I'm so embarrassed when I look back now! But here are two out of many selfies with my Mum.

Similar breakfast to the previous day! My favourite steamed broccoli :) so clean and so healthy hehe! This is round one once again!

Taking the JR Ferry to Miyajima Island, where we were going to stay overnight!

Walking up to see the pagodas. I was actually a little excited because in the second semester of Year 2 we studied Asian architecture in history class... and that included tons of pagodas and temples. I guess I just wanted to show off and recite all the names.

Um... some sort of speciality snack of Miyajima. Dorayaki-like snack. Very yummy!

Was so excited to see Hello Kitty!

Umm... some red temple omg haha sorry I forgot the name! It was really, really big though, took us forever to finish walking through it.

Finally lunch time! My hamburg steak with white rice, MY FAVOURITE! There were two deer outside that kept hanging around the restaurant and coming indoors! So cute! (There are tons of deer wandering freely on Miyajima Island - sorry I forgot to mention ahah!)

More walking after lunch! Super sunny!

Cute cute deer! :D

The tide went out to we got to snap pics up close and personal with this... um... red temple stand thingy. (Okay please don't hit me because I've forgotten all the names - after all this WAS more than half a year ago now... and yes I'm aware my captions are anything but helpful lol)

Back at our hotel, waiting to check in and waiting for dinner!

Traditional dinner at our hotel! Many, many courses that kept coming nonstop that filled me up SO BAD!

I forgot to take pictures of some of the foods but here are a few snapshots. I was STUFFED by the end of dinner. The portions look small but actually they weren't, and the dishes just kept coming wtf!!!
